SediMAX, A. Menarini Diagnostics' latest urinary analyzer, now makes traditional urine sediment analysis avant-garde. This fast, user-friendly, highly reliable device applies high-tech to the traditional microscopic urine sediment examination process which is still essential for diagnosing a large number of diseases.

Thanks to its built-in microscope and image processing software, it is able to identify a wide range of particles, making a statistical count of the particles in each sample and providing a global interpretation of the results.

While sediMAX does all the work with infallible diligence and accuracy (up to 80 samples/hour), the operator can concentrate on other laboratory tasks. After testing, a user-friendly PC interface and a fully accessible database containing all the images allows for re-examining the most problematic cases flagged by the system and re-evaluating the samples on the screen, thus exploiting the human experience and judgment that is necessary for making a diagnosis.

The images displayed on the screen are the very same as those observed through traditional microscopes, i.e. whole view-fields of the sample, with the possibility of zooming in on single particles. This unique feature enables more than one operator to view the monitor and discuss the images at the same time. It can also be used for didactic purposes.
